Mrs. Mannasseh Prentice, widow of the late Mannaseh Prentice of Townsend township, died at her home east of Whitmore on Thursday of last week, at the age of 83 years, after a brief illness. She and her husband were pioneers of this county and had lived in Townsend since a very early day. Mr Prentice died in 1901 and his widow kept the farm, which is a valuable one. She leaves two sons, Burton Prentice of Colorado and Henry of Whitmore; and five daughters--Mrs. Nettie Hamilton, Mrs Mary E. Heisey, Mrs. Alivia P. Denhoff, Mrs. Nellie G. Wright and Mrs. Thos. Norman of Clyde.
The funeral was held on Sunday, conducted by Rev C.N. Crabbs of Toledo, assisted by Rev J.E. Hill, and burial took place at Castalia beside her husband.
