1. James Albert Prentice was b. 17 Jul 1926, obtained his SS# in PA, and d. 22 Apr 2002 in Somerset, Somerset Co., PA.

He m.Mary Olive. She was b. 3 Jun 1931 and d. 29 Jun 2009, Somerset, Somerset Co., PA. Her obituary in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review of 30 Jun 2009 reads as follows:

    Mary O. Prentice, Somerset

    Mary Olive Prentice, 78, of Somerset, died Monday, June 29, 2009. She was born June 3, 1931.

    Preceded in death by husband, Donald Robert Grice; husband, James Albert Prentice; and grandson, Rex Marinelli. Survived by daughters, Lee Grice (Dana Ventriglia) and Jan Grice (Donald Marinelli); granddaughter, Olivia Teresa Marinelli; and sister, Sara Chew, all of Pittsburgh.

    Mary was a graduate of Greensburg High School and the Barbizon School of Modeling in New York City. After the death of her first husband, she completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature at the University of Pittsburgh in 1972. Since 1974, Mary lived on her secluded property on Laurel Mountain. She was a lover of nature and drew inspiration from the wildlife and beauty of the mountains.

    Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McCABE BROS. INC. FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut St., Shadyside. There will be no service. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, 208 West Main St., Ligonier, PA 15658, or to the Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501.
