Richard Patrick Freeman, LL.B. 1894.

Born April 24, 1869, in New London, Conn.
Died July 8, 1944, in Newington, Conn.

Father, Richard Patrick Freeman, proprietor Metropolitan Hotel, New London; son of Richard and Mary (Meehan) Freeman of St. John, New Brunswick. Mother, Mary Belle (Magenis) Freeman; daughter of Joseph Seymour and Roselle (Thomas) Magenis of Pierpont, N Y. Yale relatives include a nephew, Richard Freeman Prentis, '31.

Bulkeley High School, New London, and Noble's School, Boston; B.A cum laude Harvard 1891; attended Yale School of Law 1891-94 (LL B 1894); admitted to the bar 1894, lawyer in New London 1894 until retirement 1915; selectman Town of New London 1891, prosecuting attorney New London City Court 1898-1901, represented Second Connecticut Congressional District, United States Congress, 1915-33; sergeant major, 3d Regiment, Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, during Spanish-American War; Major and Judge Advocate, Connecticut National Guard, 1901-08; member Masonic order; attended First Church of Christ (Congregational), New London.

Married November 24, 1915, in Scarsdale, N.Y., Fredncca Baile Hunt, daughter of John and Fredncca Bade. No children. Mrs. Freeman died September 16, 1940.

Death due to artenosclerotic heart disease Buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London Survived by a sister, Mrs. Mabel F Prentis and a brother, Joseph Magenis Freeman, both of New London.
