Father, Merton Eugene DeWolf, president DeWolf & Wells Company, grain and coal merchants, Spencer; son of Sprague P and Martha J (Frink) DeWolf of Cambria, Mich. Mother, Elizabeth (Prentice) DeWolf; daughter of Abijah Benson and Harriett (Wadsworth) Prentice of Cambria Township, Mich.
Spencer High School, attended Carleton College 1910-12, taught history Spencer High School Entered Yale College Junior year.
Bookkeeper DeWolf & Wells Company 1916-18 and secretary of its successor, DeWolf Grain Company, 1918-25, president Spencer Chick Hatchery 1923-40, entered service July 26, 1918, Infantry Central Officers Training School at Camp Gordon; commissioned Second Lieutenant, Infantry, U.S. Reserves, on discharge November 30, 1918; member Masonic order and American Legion.
Unmarried.
Death due to cerebral hemorrhage. Buried in Riverside Cemetery, Spencer. Survived by parents and two sisters, Hester DeWolf (B A. Carleton Coll 1917) of Spencer and Mabel D Obrecht (Iowa State Coll. 1918), the wife of Clarence J Obrecht (B.A. Mormngside Coll 1918) of Holstein, Iowa.
