The funeral service for Harold W. Prentice, 66, 3916 Limerick Road, was held Thursday, April 14, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home with the Rev. John Ferne officiating. Burial was in McPherson Cemetery. Mr. Prentice died Tuesday, April 12, at the Classic Care Center in Sandusky. He had been in failing Heath the past year. He was born in Clyde, December 20, 1916, the son of Carl and Ethel (Hess) Prentice, and was graduated from Clyde High School in 1935. He was a lifetime resident of Clyde. He married Frances M. McClure on September 4, 1945 and she survives. Also surviving are a son Carl L. Prentice of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Guy (Carol) Ledman and Trudi Prentice, both of Clyde; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Pauline Kistler of Sandusky. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of the George G. Stoll Post 3343 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the Orrin G. Franks Post 122 of the American Legion; and the National Rifle Association. He had retired from Whirlpool's Clyde Division on January 1, 1983 and had worked there in the Plastics Division. Friends were received at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
