Lester R. Prentice
of Binghamton
Lester R. Prentice, 72, of Binghamton died Monday, November 28, 2005. He was predeceased by his son, Richard, in 1984. He is survived by his loving family; his children, Vanessa Hughes, Pamela Jones, Peggy Jones, John and Emily Prentice, Glen Prentice, Paul Prentice, Steven Prentice, Joseph and Elizabeth Prentice, Frank Prentice, Lisa and Jon Burr, and Roxanne Prentice; his sister, Marjorie Sanford; six brothers, Charlie, Stanley, Jimmy, Kenneth, Raymond, and Ronald; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lester was an accomplished welder and was the owner and operator of Prentice Water Systems in Binghamton. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge 1013 in Binghamton. He will be remembered for his dedication to hard work including welding, mining, and drilling wells, also for his practical jokes, and his happy go-lucky way.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday December 3, 2005 at Savage Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Ave, Binghamton with Pastor Timothy Dodd officiating. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home Friday December 2, 2005 from 4 to 6pm. Online condolences may be sent at www.savagefs.com. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
