Edward C. Prentice, 74, of 157 Macklin Lane, Edinburg, PA died the evening of July 22, 2007 in Jameson Memorial Hospital. He was born August 18, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA and was the son of the late Charles E. & Florence Schwartz Prentice. He married the former Geraldine (Carol) Deep on August 11, 1956. She survives.
Mr. Prentice retired from Jefferson Poultry where he worked in maintenance. He was also a former employee of Galaxy Cheese Co. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Mahoning Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was a member of St. James the Apostle Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter Susan M. Jackson & husband Charles of New Castle, PA; two sons Charles Prentice & wife Kay and Edward Prentice & wife Paula all of Edinburg, PA; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., located at 941 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct full military services at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. James the Apostle Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for the church. The Reverend John Rebel will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
