William "Bill" Dudley Prentice

Bill was a longtime, devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Anna, served a mission in Concho; always serving others and a man of many talents. Bill served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1956. He was a pilot, mosquito crop-duster, owner and operator of Prentice Trucking, a bronc rider, owner of Bill’s Boot & Saddle Repair and road yard supervisor for the city of St. Johns. Bill was always serving others, from bringing firewood to widows and repairing missionary shoes for free.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Linda Prentice of St. Johns; grandchildren: Brandon (Leilani) Silverhorn of Surprise, Patricia Silverhorn of Mesa, Brian (Amanda) Silverhorn of Snowflake, Jason Silverhorn of Peoria, Marcus (Nicole) Prentice of Clearfield, Utah, Michael (Clacie) Prentice of Spokane Valley, Washington, Suzanne (Tony) Kirkham of North Logan, Utah, Mandy (Kiff) Hale of Springerville, Kristine Brown of North Logan, Utah, Lori (Bruce) Benedict of Mountain View, Wyoming, Garrick (Lyndsey) Prentice of Mountain View, Wyoming; sisters, Sandy and Sue; 10 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anna Prentice, sons, James Prentice, Matthew Prentice, great-grandson Austin Silverhorn, brother Jack Prentice and sister Madalyn Jiminez.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Burnham Mortuary in St. Johns. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Downtown Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
