(contributed by Scott Prentice on 2016-09-28)
1920 - 2016
Margaret "Marge" M. Prentice, 96, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully July 28, 2016. She was born on March 23, 1920, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian (Torsch) Jahn. Marge married Francis C. Prentice on January 20, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Marge worked many years in retail sales at Lucille's and was a licensed beautician and cosmetologist.
Marge lived and loved to help others! She enjoyed spending her free time doing alterations for friends and family, helping those less fortunate run errands all around town, cooking delicious meals for her family, creating extravagant Halloween costumes for her grandkids, the list goes on and on!! Marge was always happiest making others happy - she never put herself first. Her concern was always how others were feeling and what she could do to assist in making things better or easier for them. Her deepest passion was caring for her family. Marge had a BIG part in raising all 3 of her grandchildren, not by spoiling them, but by teaching them important life lessons like respect for others and the value of hard work. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Marge is survived by her grandchildren, Cynthia (Tory) Quick, Courtney Wood and Steven Zabel; great-grandson, Grayson Quick, and son-in- law, Richard Wood.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; daughters, Carol Vanover and Cathy Wood, and her sister Marion Jahn.
Private family services will be held.
