Melissa Dillehay Howell, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 21, 2015.
Melissa was born on January 15, 1963 to Clint Dillehay and June Prentice Dillehay in Columbia, Tennessee. She worked in the healthcare industry in housekeeping and was of the Christian faith.
Melissa was a free-spirited person who enjoyed expressing herself by songwriting. Musical talent was her gift and she could play just about any instrument. She loved children and animals, and was known for taking care of everyone else before herself. She was a loving and loyal friend. Additionally, Melissa enjoyed camping and fishing with her friends.
Ms. Howell is survived by her siblings: Berry (Sandy) Sands of Lynnville, Mitzi (Robert) Andrew of Spring Hill and Tom (Stephen Huff) Dillehay of Memphis; niece: Charlene (Bryan) Russell of Pulaski and nephew: Wil (Lindsey) Sands of Lynnville. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clint Dillehay and June Prentice Dillehay.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for Melissa on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The family will visit with friends from noon until time for the service at 2 p.m. on Saturday also at the funeral home.
