Nora O’Neal Duckett Prentice Yarbrough, 80, of 1264 Piedmont Rd., passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. A native of Union County, she was the wife of the late Edward Prentice and Willie Yarbrough and a daughter of the late Guy and Bessie Anderson Duckett. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, John Prentice of Chesnee; a daughter, Ruth Holt of Butner, NC; two brothers, Floyd Duckett of Cowpens and Mike Duckett of Gaffney; three sisters, Viola Wright of Mt. Holly, NC, Mildred Gaydos of Cowpens, and Irene Pettit of Cowpens; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Colie Prentice; a daughter, Sylvia Lyles; and by eleven brother and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 13, 2007, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007, at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Coley and Rev. Alvin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Columbia at Southland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home.
