Renee Eileen Prentice, 63 entered into eternal peace on Thursday February 5, 2015 at her home in the loving arms of her husband. She was born on October 1, 1951 to Marie and Dwight "Whitey" Larsen in Port Townsend, Washington. Renee graduated from Bogalusa High School, LA in 1969 and made permanent residence in Hanford in 1977.
In 1985 she graduated from College of the Sequoias from the Registered Nursing program. Subsequently was employed as an emergency room nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital where she met her beloved husband. In 1994 Matt and Renee were married in Bullhead City, Az. They both shared the love of travel. Their favorite place was Hanalei Bay, Kauai, Hawaii. In 2011 Renee ended her nursing career as a recovery room nurse from Cypress Surgery Center in Visalia.
She is survived by her husband Matt Prentice of Hanford, mother Marie Larsen of Hanford, Sister Christine Knight and husband Gregg of Scotia, NY, Brother Marcus Larsen and wife Robin of Hanford. She was preceded in death by her father Dwight Larsen and her lovely daughter Candice "Candi" Lang Davis.
Renee was adored by all who knew her. She was known for her quiet, patient, compassionate demeanor. She will surely be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2 pm at People's Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Renee Prentice Memorial Fund for Glioblastoma Research at City of Hope. Make check payable to City of Hope with the fund name in the memo section or include with a note. Mailing address City of Hope, Philantropy, 1500 E. Duarte Road, Duarte, Ca.91010
