Verda L. Prentice, 97, of Mentor passed away January 30, 2015 at her home. She was born December 21, 1917 in Willoughby, OH.
Mrs. Prentice was a short order cook for many years. A graduate of Fenn College, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grand mother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her.
Survivors are her children Roberta Joan Winston, Hazel O'Neal, Claudia (C.J.) Land and Roy (Pat) Prentice. She is also survived by her many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; her sisters Lora Abel and Joyce Hardy; her brother Robert (Pat) Logan and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Prentice; parents Walter and Tressa Logan; her 3 brothers, 5 sisters, 1 grandchild; 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland. In memory of Verda contributions may be made to Grace Hospice 7314 Industrial Park Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
