Ethel M. (Hess) Broud

Mrs. Ethel Marie Broud, 79, of 639 George Street, died unexpectedly at 2:30 a.m., Friday, February 4, in Fremont Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Broud was born in Huron county May 3, 1892, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Fox) Hess. Her early life and education was in Huron county. She came to Clyde in 1912 when she married Dr. Carl M. Prentice who died in 1945. She married Fred Broud in 1959 and he died in 1968. She was a member of the Clyde First United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Senior Philathea Class, Clyde Eagles Auxiliary, Pythian Sisters, the Golden Age Club and the Clyde Rosettes Grandmothers Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pauline (Prentice) Kistler and a son Harold W. Prentice both of Clyde. Six grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren and a sister Hazel Harkness in Crystal Rock. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. L. Mark George, pastor, officiated. Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
