James Prentiss, 73, of Carneys Point, NJ, (formerly of the Bayshore area), passed away on Sunday, August 7th, at Memorial Hospital, Salem, NJ. He was born and raised in Newark, lived in the Bayshore area for many years, prior to moving to Carneys Point in south Jersey. James was a self-employed Carpet Installer, an avid fisherman and loved nature. He was pre-deceased by his parents Melvin and Ruth Prentiss Sr. and his brother Melvin Prentiss Jr. Surviving is his brother Edward Prentiss Sr. of Toms River; four nephews Edward Prentiss Jr., Greg Prentiss, Mike Prentiss, and Jeff Prentiss and his niece Barbara Brandt many grand nieces and nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
