1.   Henry Hamilton Prentice, b. 8 April 1807 at St Kitts, West Indies; m. ca. 1849 in Scotland(?), Ann Jane McKenzie of Greenock, Scotland. He was a ship's steward and his Seaman's ticket of 1846 describes him as "a man of colour". He emigrated to Brisbane, Australia in about 1849, and disappeared in about 1863 (d. ca 1864 possibly at sea). He is believed to be of Scottish heritage.
