Original Article: We are helping Bonnie Prentice Bassett in her efforts to trace her John Prentice who was born about 1800-1820, probably in England.
John was in the English Coast Guard. He married to Mary Cerey. Their children included:
- Ernest Prentice. He is Bonnie's grandfather and was b. 25 Aug 1843 in Barton,
Milton, New Forest, County of Southampton, England. That birth was
recorded 5 Sep 1843. Earnes married Helen Diddams of the Isle of Wight.
They had 8 children:

- Frank Prentice
- Arthur Prentice
- Dolly Prentice
- Molly Prentice
- Gwen Prentice
- Phyllis Prentice
