It was written on 26 Oct 1827 by Horatio Prentiss (age 18) of Keene, NH, to his older sister, Caroline Prentiss Thayer (age 27) in Buckfield, ME. They are the children of Dea. Caleb and Mary Webber Prentiss of Paris, ME.
Horatio died of consumption 5 years later, at age 23.
