1. Charles Prentice was b. c. 1792-96 in Aldwincle, Northamptonshire. Aldwincle lies about 70-80 miles north of London and between Northampton and Peterborough.
He m. Sarah, b. c. 1814, South Mimms, Middlesex. Perhaps widowed in 1881, she appears in the 1881 London census living at 14 Chichester (or Colchester) St., London, with her son, Richard. Children:
- Louisa Prentice, b. c. 1845, St. George, Middlesex (per 1861 census). At home in 1861. Not home in 1871 census.
- Ellen Prentice, b. c. 1847, Marylebone (per 1851 census). At home in 1851. Not in 1861 census.
- George Prentice, b. c. 1848, St Michaels; Pimlico (per 1851 census). At home in 1851, 1861 and 1871. Not in 1881 census.
- Richard Prentice, b. c. 1849, Marylebone. . . . . . . [2]
2. Richard Prentice was b. c. 1849 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England. At home in the 1851 census in St. George Hanover Square, Middlesex. He appears in the 1871 census and in the 1881 census as a Barrister's Clerk living at 14 Chichester (or Colchester) St., London, with his wife, Sarah A., b. c. 1854, London, Middlesex. He appears in the 1891 census with his wife. He later appears in the 1901 Isle of Wight, Cowes, census as a "Retired Law Clerk" with his wife, Sarah. Children per 1881 census:
- Amy S. Prentice, b. c. 1874, Holloway, Middlesex. Not at home in 1901 census.
The only possible clue that we have so far is that Charles might be a descendant of Thomas Prentice of Oundle, Northamptonshire , a number of whose descendants lived in Aldwincle.
Charles might also be related to Rebecca Prentice who m. Thomas Thompson on 30 Oct 1740 in Aldwincle All Saints, Northamptonshire.
