Linus Joseph Dewald Jr.
#1, Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., known as "Joe," is the son of Linus Sr. and Emma Marie Casper.
Born 5 Jul 1932 in Merriam, Johnson Co., KS.
In 1942, during W.W.II, at age 10, his family moved to Albany, CA and in 1946 to Santa Ana, Orange Co., CA.
In 1949 he enlisted as a photographer in the Naval Air Reserve while continuing his education. In 1954 he graduated from U. C. Long Beach and in 1957 from the UCLA School of Law. As an attorney he served as a consultant to the Legislature and later in various positions in the Placer County District Attorney's Office and County Counsel's Office.
Retiring in 1989, he continued to serve in various capacities for the State Bar of California and Placer County Superior Court.
Active in skiing, sailing and bicycling, he is a dedicated genealogist who has traced his roots back many generations. He married Paula Mary Perron. He can be contacted at dewald@prenticenet.com
