William J. Prentice of PA and Kansas City, MO

William J. Prentice of PA and Kansas City, MO

By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Winter 2000 and Revised 6 May 2004
Updates pending - Feb 2026

1.  William J. Prentice, born about 1877-1878 in PA, appears in the 1910 Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO census with his wife, Lena, b. c.1893 in MO, and daughter:

  1. Florence Prentice, b. before 1910, MO.

There is an outside chance he is the same William J. Prentice who is a descendant of James Prentice of Beaver Co., PA since he has the same name and birth year, but there is some evidence that such other person died in prison.

No other "William J. Prentice" appears in our excerpts from the 1880 PA census. The 1900 PA census shows a number of men of that name, but none born c. 1877-1878. No man of that name appears in our excerpts from the 1900 MO census.
