In our PRENTICE books, we had reported that Joseph Rollin Prentice married Hester Ann (Reynolds) Lunham on 21 Nov 1865 in Sabetha, Nemaha Co., KS.
That information now appears to be incorrect and based on the assumption that Joseph, who after the Civil War, settled at Sabetha and also married Hester there.
We have just located a marriage record for Adams County, IN indicating that Joseph married Hester in Adams Co., IN on that same date, 21 Nov 1865 (V. 1, Bk. C, O-S, Pg. 32). In retrospect, that is not surprising; before enlisting in the Union Army, Joseph is shown by the 1860 census as living in Preble Twp., Adams Co., IN. Since he was unmarried during his military service, it would be natural for him to return to his home town after his discharge.
We note that Joseph's brother, George, also married Lydia M. Niblick there on 20 May 1866.
