In reviewing a recent E-mail from Ray Champoux whose wife is a descendant of General Benjamin Mayberry Prentice, we discovered a new connection which creates a double PRENTICE link for Ann Griggs of colonial Boston, MA.
It's not uncommon for sisters to marry brothers, but such an occurrance is not apparent where the sisters have different maiden surnames.
Ann Griggs married, first, Rice "Mathew" Jones and had a daughter, Sarah Jones, who married John-3 Prentice, son of John-2 Prentice and grandson of Valentine-1 Prentice. Her first husband died 3 Jan 1661/62.
Ann then married, second, Robert Latimer. Ann and Robert then had a daughter, Elizabeth Latimer, a half-sister to Sarah Jones. Elizabeth Latimer married Jonathan-3 Prentis, brother to John-3 Prentis, above. Thus, we have half-sisters marrying brothers.
