Nebraska Prentices in 1870 and Later Census
The 1870 and later Nebraska Census contains the following individuals who we have not yet been able to identify. For convenience, spellings of the PRENTICE, PRENTIS and PRENTISS surnames have been consolidated into a single surname spelling. Comments references, such as 278/58, are to the page and number of individuals in our new PRENTICE book. All were born in NE unless otherwise indicated.

Prentice appears in the 1860 Gallands, Shelby, IA census as a 13 year old living with the Uriah Roundy family. Fn. 5 Probably widow. Living with daughter Annie L, age 29, and Beulah E., granddaughter, age 5, both born in NE. Augusta also appears in the 1920 census. Fn. 6 Clara and Nellie were nieces of, and living with, William Royce. Fn. 7 Has son, Phillip, b. 1882, NE. Fn. 8 Children: William L., b. 1889 in NE, and Margaritte(?), b. 1892 in IL. Fn. 9 May be sister-in-law to Martin Green. Fn. 10 Children: Hugh A., Sarah, Lillie and Arthur L. Fn. 11 Children: Roy I., Pearl M. and Adelphus I. Fn. 12 Patient at Hospital for Insane. Fn. 13 Also in 1920 census. Fn. 14 Children: Mina, May, Roy, Rosie and Jessie.
