Fn. 2 Loren Prentice might be the Lory Prentiss who m. Susan R. Marsten on 30 Jan 1845 at Middlesex, MA. Given his age in 1850 (45), it might be a second marriage and his son, Alfred G. Prentice, b. c. 1838, might be a son of a prior marriage. See also the FAll 1998 article. Fn. 3 Seth Prentiss might be a son of James H. Prentiss, above. Fn. 4 Frank A. Prentice would not be a son of George Prentice, 121/177, of Gardiner because George died in 1833. See also Fall 1998 Article. Fn. 5 Mary Prentiss is likely a widow. Her daughter, Fannie, m. Orrin Heil. Also living in the home is George Prentiss, age 4 (B. C. 1876), a grandson and perhaps the son of Fannie by a prior marriage.
