We received the following information from Ian Prentice's E-mail of 17 Sep 1998, and from Ancestry.com :
1. Robert Prentiss, Esq. of St. Leonards Shoreditch, England, may have been b. c. 1725-1740. (Note: a posting at Ancestry.com says Elizabeth's father is "John Prentise," but no documentary reference is given.)
The name of his wife is not known. They had 1 or more children, including:
- Elizabeth Prentiss, b. c. 1761 in Middlesex. . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
2. Elizabeth Prentiss, b. c. 1761 in Middlesex, and d. 14 Sep 1799 at Baker Street, Portman Square, London
She m. Robert Shirley, 7th. Earl Ferrers on 13 Mar 1778 at Shoreditch St. Leonards.. Their only child was:
- Robert Sewallis, Vicount Tamworth, b. 9 Nov 1778 at St. Marylebone, London. . . . . . [3]
3. Robert Sewallis, Vicount Tamworth, b. 9 Nov 1778 at St. Marylebone, London, Middlesex, and d. 6 Jun 1824, Bredon, Worcestershire, England. An Ancestor Chart for him can be found at Ancestry.com tracing his roots back to William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
Robert m. Sophia Caroline Curzon on 5 Sep 1800. She was b. 13 Jan 1779 and d. 3 Jan 1849. An extensive family tree for her going back at least to 1048 can be found at Ancestry.com .
