Colorado Census records contain information about the following individuals who we have not yet been able to identify. For convenience, spellings of the PRENTICE, PRENTIS and PRENTISS surnames have been consolidated into a single surname spelling. L. Prentiss is probably Joseph L. Prentice who appears in the 1900 Canyon City, Fremont, CO census. His son, James H., appears in the 1900 MI censu. Fn. 2 Augustine Prentiss is the son of William Otis Prentice; see Prentices of the South: SC. Fn. 3 Bert S. Pentice is probably not Wybert Prentice, EDB 23408, who we show as deceased in 1898 in WI. Fn. 4 Joseph L. Prentice is living in the home of his sone, George, and apparently has remarried. Note the discrepency as to Joseph's place of birth which is shown as NY in the 1880 census. See separate entry for George's family. Fn. 5 James E. Prentice and his son, Harold, are probably the persons appearing in the 1920 Oregon census, Fn. 15. Fn. 6 Owen Prentis is probably the son of William F. Prentiss (see Prentices of the South: SC). Fn. 7 Adam A. Prentice is the son of Alexander Prentice from Scotland, shown in the earlier, 1860 Crescent, Pottawattamie, Iowa census, who was born c. 1827 in Scotland and whose roots have not yet been identified. Fn. 8 Charles A. Prentice may be EDB 27949. Fn. 9 Willard Prentiss may be the Willard shown in the 1900 Chicago, Cook, IL census, son of Benjamin L. Prentiss,b. Sep 1866, IL.
