Arkansas Prentices in 1860 and Later Census
Although most of the early Arkansas Prentice families are descendants of Robert Prentice of VA and TN, the 1860 and later Arkansas Census contains the following individuals who we have not yet been able to identify. For convenience, spellings of the PRENTICE, PRENTIS and PRENTISS surnames have been consolidated into a single surname spelling. Comments references, such as 278/58, are to the page and number of individuals in our new PRENTICE book.

He may be related to (1) James Prentice (b. 1842) who lived in Black Rock in Lawrence County, (2) related to Alvin C. Prentice (b. 1850) who lived in Strawberry in Lawrence County;, or (3) Charles Prentice (b. 1874) of Black Rock; all are descendants of Robert Prentice of VA and TN. Fn. 2 George has children: Elizabeth/Lizzie (1884, MS), Myrtle (1888, MS), Armis (1892, MS) and Essie D. (1898, AR). Fn. 3 Thomas has children: Raymond A. (1903, AR), William R. (1905, AR) and Vista O. (1909, AR). Fn. 4 John, age 9, has a sister, Virgie, age 11, and both are living with their grandfather, Albert R. Wallace. Fn. 5 Neva also has a brother or sister named Olon, b. c. 1902, MO.
