- Orange County Register, The (Santa Ana, CA) - Friday, May 22, 2015: Robert Prentice
A bright light was extinguished on April 20, 2015, when the gentle soul of Robert Prentice was taken to his eternal rest. Those who knew and loved Bob are the poorer for it.
Bob was born in Fullerton, CA on February 25, 1941. He attended Zion Lutheran Elementary and Anaheim High School. He worked as a barber for 10 years, cutting hair at Hank's Barber Shop on the Plaza in Orange. He also worked in the Parks Dep't. for the City of Orange.
At age 48, Bob was diagnosed with spinocerebellar ataxia, a progressive, degenerative disorder. He endured the ravages to his body with grace and dignity. Through his example, he demonstrated how to handle life's challenges with courage and humor. While we mourn his absence, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is now at perfect peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved son, Billy. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Kathy; his brother, Samuel; his grandchildren, Devin, Amanda and Tori. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 10:00 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church of Orange, 1855 Orange-Olive Road. www.fairhavenmemorial.com
