The Wall Street Journal of 21 Dec 2017 had an article about obituaries about pets appearing in newpapers and websites. It started us wondering why our Prentice correspondent shouldn't have the same opportunity to tell about the passing away of their own pets.

The Journal mentioned obits in which a Dachshund watched Hallmark moview with her owner and would scratch the refrigerator to beg for carrots; about Merlin who would ride with the owner's friend on a scooter, traveling in a special sack and wearing goggles.

We will not make any changes to those stories coming from the heart, except for perhaps correcting grammar.
