Important Note: We received this information from Laurie Carroll. Additional research is needed to identify the ancestry of #1, James Prentice.

1. James Prentice. Laurie Carroll' website at Ancestry.com says that James Prentice was born at an unknown date and at an unknown location and d. in New Zealand.

She also says rhat James was the son of an unnamed Prentice who was born in Scotland. For birth and death records she has not provided information.

James m. Ann Mitchell. Laurie says that she obtained that information from the wedding document for their daughter, Janet, below. There is no present inforrmation about the date and place of Ann't birth and marriage record. Laurie provides the following information about their children: "He had five sons and one daughter with Ann Mitchell.". He died in New Zealand. Children of James and Ann: :

1. Isaac Wood Prentice, b. Jsn 1883 in Palmerston South, New Zealand, the son of Ann and James. He died on August 29, 1969, in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand, at the age of 86, and was buried in Waikato, Waikato, New Zealand. 1911 in Raglan, Waikato, NZ. 1917, 1928, 1935, 1938, 1946, 1954, 1957, 1963 in Hamilton, Waikato, NZ. 1938 a Railway Employee in the 1938 Electoral Roll living at 18 Bond Street, Hamilton.

   He married Diana Ada Kendall in 1913 in his hometown.She was b. c. 1877 and d. 1967, age 90.

2. Janet Prentice, b. 17 Oct 1888, Kurow, Duntroon, Canerbury, NZ, and d. 8 Aug 1967, Browns Bay, Auckland, NZ, age 78. Bur. in Auckland, NZ.

   She m. Walter Francis Carroll, b. 1903 in Avondale, Auckland, NZ, and d. 14 Feb 1929, Mercer, Waikato, NZ, age 26. Bur. in Auckland. Son:

   1. Walter Laurence Carroll, b. 9 Jun 1929, in Hamilton, Waikato, NZ, and d. 9 Jun 2009, in Waiuku, Auckland, NZ, age 79. He m. and had 2 sons.

3. William Prentice, b. NZ and d. Auckland, Auckland, NZ.
