Obituary for Ronald Julian Prentiss

Prentiss – Ronald Julian Prentiss, age 57, of Lawtey, Florida passed away October 6, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County. He was born March 31, 1960 in Fort McPherson, Georgia to Donald Prentiss and Julia Ann Childers Prentiss. Ronald has been a resident of Bradford County since 1983 and attended Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed his long-time career as a Correctional Officer Lieutenant for the Union Correctional Institution before he retired in 2007. Since retirement Ronald enjoyed playing golf, shooting guns and reading books. He is predeceased by his father.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Jean Prentiss of Lawtey, FL, mother, Julia Ann Prentiss of Lawtey, FL, sister-in-laws, Patty Muse of Macclenny, FL and Kimberly Padgett of Keystone Heights, FL; brother-in-laws, David Sumpter of Fernandina Beach, FL, Louis Sumpter of Yulee, FL and Raymond Sumpter of Hampton, FL; numerous aunts, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Pastor Toby Roehm officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services and Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel, Starke, Fl. 904-964-5757.

He m. Pamela Jean. Living in 2017 in Lawtey, FL. No children mentioned in Ronald's obituary, above. Sisters in law and Brothers in law are mentioned, so Pamela might have had a prior marriage with children.
