Nancy H. Prentice, 84, of 116 Choctaw Trail, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 in Edenton.

M r s. P r e n t i c e was born in Clifton Forge, Va. and was the daughter of the late Willie Marion and Alice Layne Hudson. A retired government employee with the Navy Department, she was a member of Bandon Chapel Church in the Arrowhead subdivision of Edenton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Prentice; sisters, Kathleen H. Rose and Christine H. Grice; and by her brother, Willie Marion Hudson Jr.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Anne Prentice of Snow Camp; her son, Mark William Prentice and wife, Michelle, of Williamsburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Kristine Tittermary and husband, Michael, Jason Seymour and wife, Alison, and Rebecca Seymour; and five great-grandchildren, Reagan and Preston Tittermary and Mya, Cailey, and Asher Seymour.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Bandon Chapel Church by the Rev. Charles Ullom, pastor. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Va. Friends may join the family at the residence. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
