Not in 1920 U.S. census. 1940 shown as married, but without his wife, in Newark, Essex Co., NJ; a Real Estate Salesman with 4 years of high school.

He m. Edna D. Aberle who was b. c. 1905, NJ, dau. of Edward Aberle, b. c. 1876, Switzerland (with both parents b. in Switzerland) and Helen ., b. c. 1881, NY (with both parents b. in Denmark). Carles and Edna had 1 or more children, including:

    WELLSVILLE — Wilma T. Prentice, 80, passed away Friday (Oct. 10, 2014) at Jones Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Prentice was born on Jan. 11, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Paul and Anna Costigan.

    Wilma is survived by a son, Adam Prentice of Allentown. She was predeceased by two sons, Roy B. Prentice and William Prentice.

    Wilma was an avid BINGO fan. She enjoyed working puzzles and attending any and all softball games, especially if the game involved children. She like watching boxing matches on television but most of all, she loved playing games with her grandchildren. Wilma worked as a custodian for the Wellsville Community Center for 10 years until her retirement in 2012.

    There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive in Wellsville, with Rev. Larry Allen of the First Day Baptist Church in Richburg officiating. Burial will take place in Whitesville Rural Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.     B. Roy Prentice, 56, of 244 W. State Street, Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, 3 Oct 2013 at home. He was born 19 May 1958, Neptune, NJ, son of Bernard A. and Wilma (Costigan) Prentce.

    He was raised in Neptune and resided in St. Petersburg, FL, from 1979 to 1992, where he was employed by Maas Brothers Dept. Store. He moved to Wellsville in 1992 and has been an employee of Northern Lights Candle Co. for the past 18 years.

    He is survived by his mother of Wellsville, his father of Allentown, a brother, Adam Prentice of Allentown . . He was predeceased by a brother, Bill Prentice, on 23 Oct 2011.

    William C. "Bill" Prentice, 51, of 6428 Pleasant Valley Road, died unexpectedly on Sunday (Oct. 23, 2011) at home. He was born Sept. 27, 1960, in Neptune, N.J., the son of Bernard and Wilma (Costigan) Prentice.

    Bill was raised in Neptune, N.J. and had formerly resided in Whitesville and St. Petersburg, Fla. He was employed as a logger for Baldwin's Forest Products of Wellsville, a mechanic for Bernie's Body Shop and Garage in Allentown and most recently for the Union Drilling Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Bolivar.

    He is survived by four children, Charles Morales of San Diego, Calif., Andrew Prentice of Wellsville, Rachel (William) Lundy of Richburg, and Alexis Prentice of Hinsdale; two stepchildren, Renee Ray of Wellsville, and Nicole Handmore of Allegany; five grandchildren; his father of Allentown; his mother of Wellsville; two brothers, Roy Prentice of Wellsville, and Adam (Jeanie) Prentice of Allentown; two nephews; the mother of his children, Ixa Morales of Richburg; and his girlfriend, Kate Dahill of the Town of Wirt. He was predeceased by a son, Ryan Prentice, in 1978.

    Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will be Friday (Oct. 28, 2011) at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
