73. Harrison Tyler "Tip" Prentiss was b. 18 or 19 Nov 1840, in Lewis Co., Missouri (per 1850 Quincy, Adams, IL census. Died, 21 Apr 1897, in Bethany, MO. [114]. 1870 census in Quincy, Adams Co., IL.

He married Alwilda Torrence on 28 Oct 1865. She was b. c. 1850, MO. She was the dau. of John Torrence (b. c. 1814, PA) and his wife, Sarah (b. c. 1824, PA. If he is the John Torrence b. 30 Nov 1814 in Westmoreland Co., PA, an Ancestor Chart for him can be found at Ancestry.com .

Children of Harrison and Alwilda:

  1. Margaret "Maggie" Prentiss, b. c. 1867, IL. At home Quincy, IL, in 1870. Resided, 1897, in Quincy, IL. 1880 census in Liberty, Adams Co., IL, living with her maternal grandparents, John Torrence (b. c. 1814, PA) and his wife, Sarah (b. c. 1824, PA). She may be the dau. who m. a Mr. Kesler.

  2. Mary Prentiss, b. c. 1874, IL. Resided, 1897, in Omaha, NE. 1880 census in Liberty, Adams Co., IL, living with her maternal grandparents, John Torrence (b. c. 1814, PA) and his wife, Sarah (b. c. 1824, PA. She may be the dau. who m. Mr. Harris. She is probably the Mary Harris who appears in the 1900 census in Omaha, Douglas Co., NE, as b. Aug 1874, IL, with her husband, Frank Harris, b. Jun 1872, IL. Not in 1819 census. Children:

    1. Ida Harris, b. Jul 1894, NE. At home in Omaha in 1900. Not in 1910 census.
    2. Frank Harris, May, 1898, NE. At home in Omaha in 1900. Not in 1910 census.
