1. E. Prentice was b. c. 1790-1800 at an unknown location and appears in the 1840 census for Troy, Rensselaer Co., NY, with his wife and family.

He m. Unknown who was b. c. 1800-1810 at an unknown location and appears with her husband and children in that 1840 census. They had a son and 4 daughters, all the children being between the ages of about 1 year of age to about 10 or 15 years of age. They appear in that census as follows:

1. Son, b. 1825-30.
2. Dau., b. 1830-35.
3. Dau., b. 1830-35.
4. Dau., b. 1835-40.
5. Dau., b. 1835-40.

He is not the Ephraim Prentice shown in the 1830 and 1840 census at Grafton. However, he may be a brother to Norman Prentice who appears on the same 1840 census page (pg. 100).

He is not Erastus Prentice of Pittsfield, MA discussed in our Winter 2002 Prentice Newsletter because that Erastus Prentice had moved to Pittsfield, MA, and was deceased by the time of the 1840 census.
