1. Leon Prentice was likely b. c. 1910-1922 at an unknown location. In 1944-45 he was a "Flt-Sgt" presumably a Flight Sargeant in the military stationed in India.
He m. Edna. They had 1 or more children, including:
- Louise Ann Prentice, b. 22 Oct 1944 and bap. 11 Feb 1945, St. Stephen's Church, Kidderpore, Bengal Presidency, India.
As noted, the record identifies the Presidency as Bengal. British India was divided into three Presidencies:
- Bombay, which covered the west and north of the country, including what is now Pakistan;
- Bengal, which covered the east of the country and included Burma and what is now Bangladesh, and
- Madras, which covered the southern portion of India.
The main cities of the Presidencies were Bombay, Calcutta and Madras, respectively.
