Who are George Prentice's Parents?

George does not appear in the IGI. We checked the 1841 census, did not find an entry for a George in Glasgow, but we did find an entry for a George Prentice who was then living in Shettleston, Lanarkshire, which now is a suburb of Glasgow (see map). He was the son of Sarah Prentice, evidently a widow, who the 1841 census simply described a born in "Scotland." Two other siblings of George were shown:

  1. Mary Prentice, b. c. 1836, Lanarkshire.
  2. Isabella Prentice, b. c. 1838, Lanarkshire.

Investigation is continuing.
