1. Arlin Rita Prentice was b. 25 Mar 1936 and bap. 12 Apr 1936 at Christ Church, Chittagong, India.

She was a daughter of Percy Prentice, b. perhaps c. 1890-1906, Jetty guard, and Hannah Nolin.

The record also identifies the Presidency as Bengal. British India was divided into three Presidencies:

  1. Bombay, which covered the west and north of the country, including what is now Pakistan;
  2. Bengal, which covered the east of the country and included Burma and what is now Bangladesh, and
  3. Madras, which covered the southern portion of India.

The main cities of the Presidencies were Bombay, Calcutta and Madras, respectively.
