5. James Prentice, b. c. 1865, Great Weldon. He an Agricultural Labourer and was living with Mark and his family in the 1881 census and was called Mark's "grandson". He appears in the 1901 Little Weldon, Northampton, census with his wife, Sarah, and sons:

  1. James Samuel Prentice, b. c. 1894. He enlisted in the army in August 1914 and d. in WW I on 25 Nov 1918 as a Private in the Tank Corps. Those war records also identify him as the son of James and Sarah Ann Prentice, of Great Weldon. He is buried in the Great Weldon (St. Mary) churchyard.
  2. Horace Prentice, b. c. 1900, Little Weldon.

Who are John Prentice's Parents?

We have not yet determined the identity of his parents, but Mark Prentice, #2, might be a brother to David Prentice of Weldon discussed in our Summer 2005 issue.
