By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Fall 2006 and Revised 10 Sep 2006

Update of 10 Sep 2006: This family has been identified as included within the family of George Prentice of Horsleydown, Surrey, England . This article is now replaced by that earlier article.

We found the following family in the 1841 England indexed under the name Prentica. After viewing the microfilm original, it seems to us that the name really is Prentice and we use that latter spelling for this article.

1. George Prentice was b. c. 1806 in Middlesex, England. He appears in the 1841 census in St. John Hackney, Middlesex with his family.

He m. Sarah, b. c. 1806, Middlesex. Their known children are:

  1. Emma Prentice, b. c. 1833, Middlesex.
  2. George Prentice, b. c. 1827, Middlesex.
  3. Phoebe Prentice, b. c. 1837, Middlesex.
  4. William Prentice, b. c. 1839, Middlexex.

They do not appear in the 1851 or 1861 census and may have emigrated to another country.
