We found the following information based on an obituary which was published 29 Jul 1998 in the Oneonta, NY "The Daily Star":
1. George A. Prentice, b. c. 1890-1900. He m. Ethel Baker. Their children included:
- George A. Prentice Jr., b. 6 May 1929, Walton, (NY?). . . . . . . [2]
- Frank "Mick" Prentice. He d. before 1998. He may, or may not, be the Frank S. Prentice shown in the SSDI as b. 29 Apr 1932 and d. c. 4 May 1996 in New Castle, New Castle, DE.
- Bradley W. Prentice, b. 1 Nov 1934 and d. 28 Oct 1998 at an unspecified location (per SSDI)
- Gerline Prentice. She m. Mr. Scofield of Walton.
- Illiana (Tina) Prentice. She m. Mr. Fioravanti of New Castle, DE.
2. George A. Prentice Jr., b. 6 May 1929, Walton, (NY?). He d. Fri., 17 Jul 1998 at the age of 69 at his home at 213 Main Street, Blossburg, Tioga Co., PA (per SSDI). The SSDI also indicates he obtained his SS# in NY. It is unclear whether he married; his obituary is silent on the subject. George was formerly of Wilmington, DE, His obituary adds the following information:
- He retired from Ward Manufacturing, Blossburg, Pa., in 1983. Prentice was a Navy veteran. He enjoyed
singing and playing his guitar. Born May 6, 1929, in Walton, he was a son of George A. and Ethel Baker Prentice.
Surviving are two sisters, Gerline Scofield of Walton and Illiana (Tina) Fioravanti of New Castle, Del.,
and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Bradley and Frank (Mick), preceded him in death.
The funeral was held Monday, July 20, 1998, at 11 a.m., at Zwicharowski's, 314 Granger St., with the Rev. John Shypulefski officiating. Burial, with full military honors will be in the Arbon Cemetery, Blossburg, Pa.
