Spring 2003 and Revised 30 May 2007

Update of 30 May 2007: William Henry Prentice is the son of William Henry Prentice and Anne Elizabeth Spencer William Prentice of Essex England and Australia. That article now replaces this article.

We found the following family tree at Freepages.genealogy :

1. Wlliam Henry Prentice. His date and place of birth was not given, but the date is probably c. 1862-1868 based on his marriage date. We infer William was born in Australia because the website's email address contains an Australia suffix.

He m. Ann Jane Cox on 22 Feb 1888. She was b. 1870 in Mt. Harris and d. 1937 and was the dau. of George Francis Cox and Mary Jane Barden. Children:

  10. Constance Lorna Prentice, b. 1917. She m. Edward Roy Liddieth in 1936.

Who are William Henry Prentice's Parents?

Although only an educated guess at this point, it seems likely that William Henry Prentice's parents were William Henry Prentice, b. 6 Jul 1838 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and Anne Elizabeth Spencer, b. c. 1840 in Sydney. They were m. on 13 Oct 1862 in Sydney. Their eldest child was William Henry Prentice Jr., b. 6 Dec 1862, Sydney.

Lending some additional weight, is the fact that both families had sons named Albert and Frederick. Additional information about them may be found in our Spring 2003 article at William Henry Prentice of Sydney, Australia .
