A. Thomas Prentice may have been b. c. 1740-1750. The name of his wife is not known. What little we do know about Thomas comes from a court decision reported at English Reports in Law and Equity which read as follows:

    A testator [Thomas Prentice] [who d. Nov 1779] devised [by Will of 26 Sep 1775] an estate to his daughter for life, and after her the children of the body of his daughter lawfully begotten. . .the testator's daughter had 2 children during her life. . . [and] the Will contained specific devises, in similar. . terms, of other parts of the said testator's copyhold estates and his freehold estates to his son Thomas Eagles Prentice and his daughter Mary Ann Prentice. [It later discusses another daughter, Henrietta Prentice and her husband an family.

1. Thomas Eagles Prentice was b. c. 1771 and was bur. 31 Dec 1836, age 65, Hertford, at Hemel Hempstead, St. Mary. Reference to his Will at The National Archives indicates he was a Surgeon.

Thomas m. Ann Healy on 12 Jul 1794, recorded in Great Berkhampstead, Hertford, England. She d. 18 Jun 1844 at Camden Villas, Camden Town, age 73 (b. c. 1771) per Gentleman's Magazine

2. Henrietta Prentice. She d. Mar 1847

She m. John Tookey in Sep 1796. He d. 1818. Children of Henrietta and John:

  1. John Tookey. He had a Will dated Feb. 1828. He m. Frances. They had a son:
    1. Joseph Tookey
    2. Henrietta Tookey. Died "in the lifetime of her mother."
