1. Owen Prentice was b. c. 1819 in Ireland. Owen and his wife emigrated to the United States at an unknown date between 1867 and 1871. Owen and his wife appear in the 1880 census in Huntington, Suffolk Co., NY as a Laborer with his wife and children.
He m. Letitia, b. c. 1822, Ireland. She appears in the 1900 census in Huntington, Suffolk Co., NY, indexed as "Letitia Prentiss" and living with her dau., Margaret. Children:
- James Prentice, b. c. 1867, Ireland. At home in 1880. He does not appear in the 1900 and later census.
- Margaret Prentice, b. c. 1871, NY. At home in 1880. Living with her mother in the 1900 census in Nuntington, Suffolk Co., NY, and indexed as "Margetta I. Prentiss."
