She was survived by one brother, thirty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was converted and united with the M. E. Church in early life and remained a member until death. Funeral services were held from the home at 2 o'clock Monday, conducted by Rev. W. W. Beckley. Interment at Greenmont Cemtetery, Freeport.

However, the 1910 census says Marinda J. (Prentice) Burris was b. c. 1847, VA, and that her father was b. in PA and mother in MA.
