1. James Prentice was b. in Scotland c. 1886. He emigrated to English Canada at some date before 1917, lived there until at least 1921 or later (and after the 1920 U. S. census where he does not appear), and by 1926 had moved to California. He appears in the 1930 census in Oakland, Alameda Co., CA , with his wife and family.

He m. Jessie, b. c. 1881, North Dakota. Children per 1930 census:

1. Neil Prentice, b. c. 1917, Canada, English. He does not appear in the SSDI.

2. Bruce Prentice, b. c. 1921, Canada, English, He may, or may not, be the Bruce Prentice shown in the SSDI as b. 18 Jun 1921, who obtained his SS# in CA, and who d. c. Sep 1985 in San Gabriel, Los Angeles Co., CA.

3. Sheila Prentice, b. c. 1926, California
