1. Henry Prentice was b. c. 1840 in VT. He is not in the 1850, 1860 or 1870 census, but does appear in the 1880 census in Plattsburgh, Clinton Co., NY with his children:
- Minerva/Minnie Prentice, b. 2 Oct 1869, St. Albans, Franklin Co., VT (per census and IGI)
- Charles Henry Prentice, b. 25 Jan (1871?), St. Albans, Franklin Co., VT (the census says he was b. c. 1871 but the IGI says 25 Jan 1869).
The only clue we have so far is that the 1850 census indicates that both of Henry's parents were b. in VT. The name, Henry, is most commonly found in that early period among descendants of the emigrant, Henry Prentice, but that fact, standing alone, is inconclusive as to his ancestry.
