The IGI indicates at least 2 possibilities for Ebenezer's parents:

1. Perhaps Ebenezer Prentice is the same person as Ebenezer Prentice shown in the IGI as b. 2 Jul 1800, Carluke, Lanark, Scotland, son of Archibald Prentice and Jean McNaught.

   According to the IGI, Archibald was b. c. 1763 and is called "of Spotts Cross, Lanark,Scotland, and is shown as marrying Jean McNaught 31 Dec 1791.

2. Or, perhaps Ebezener is the same person as Ebenezer Prentice, shown in an other IGI entry as b. 30 Jul 1800, Carluke, Lanark, Scotland, son of John Prentice and Marion Burns, shown in our Spring 2003 article on John Prentice and Euphemia Scott of Carluke
