Update of 30 Jan 2005: Claude Prentice is likely the son of John Andrew Prentice and Electa Jane Skinner, #4 in our Summer 1998 article on James and Jerusha Prentice .
1. Claude Prentice was likely b. c. 1915-1924.
He m. Helen, b. c. 1924. Her obituary reads as follows:
- Helen Prentice, Merrillville
Helen Prentice, age 80, of Merrillville, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2004. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Merrillville, the 55 Year Club at Our Lady of Consolation Church and the Senior Club and Women's Circle at Salem United Methodist Church in Hebron.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Claude Prentice. Helen is survived by a very special friend: Richard Palmer of Merrillville; one brother: Walter Grabos and Laura of Florida; three sisters-in-law: Carol Grabos of New Chicago, Ruth Nicholudis of Lowell and Becky Prentice of Osieon, IN; dear cousin: Genevieve Ashby of Calumet Township; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. at the Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, to St. Joan of Arc Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Reverend Andrew Corona officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral Home on Monday, November 8, 2004 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
